25 Jul LANZAROTE AND THE FASHION WORLD, THE PERFECT COMBINATION
There’s nothing new about Lanzarote being an island with enormous potential for fashion. For many, its landscapes are worthy of admiration. Its volcanic landscapes in contrast with the white buildings, the good weather and pristine beaches. Dream-like places all over the island, such as Cueva de los Verdes and Jardín de Cactus, Art, Culture and Tourism Centres, where art comes to life. The Timanfaya National Park is the only park in Spain that has a historically recent volcanic activity in the Macaronesia area. Its lack of vegetation, its particular rough ground caused by the lava and its extraordinary colours leave visitors in awe. Another area in Lanzarote worth admiring is the large vineyard area in the north, La Geria. These vineyards have an odd shape which amazes visitors.
It’s no coincidence that Lanzarote is a Unesco Reserve of the Biosphere, since it manages the perfect combination between humans and nature. César Manrique spent his whole life trying to make this possible, creating unique spaces with his art, deserving recognition. The extraordinary beauty of Lanzarote made it worthy of being a set for fashion campaigns as well as for important fashion magazines like Vogue, Harper’s Baazar, Vanity Fair and Numero Magazine, among others.

Germany’s version of Elle has come to the island more than once for photographic sessions. Their favourite spots have been Jameos del Agua and Monumento al Campesino, both César Manrique’s projects.
