Papagayo beach, selected Spain’s best beach according to the Condé Nast Traveler

Lanzarote can be proud of having remarkable beaches across its coastline, including white sand beaches, endless shores and even clear-water pools; these are places to appreciate the sea and the impressive landscapes of the island. But there is one in particular that is worthy of a special recognition this year: as best beach in Spain.

The prestigious magazine Condé Nast Traveler holds a popular vote every year about the best beaches in Spain, and they have recently published this year’s results, with an absolute winner, Papagayo beach.

Competing with beaches like Cartagena in Murcia, Playa de Torimbia in Asturias, Playa de Valdevaqueros in Tarifa, Cádiz, Playa de Pechón in Cantabria and the renowned Playa de La Concha in San Sebastián, Guipúzcoa, Papagayo was the winner of the vote as Spain’s Best Beach in 2019, held every summer in Condé Nast Traveler España.

Located in the South of Lanzarote, this beach stands on a virgin setting, featuring a peculiar semicircular shape. It is a wild place located in Ajaches Natural Park, also with spectacular views of Isla de Lobos and Fuerteventura.

This is a dream-like spot where you can lose yourself, thanks to the thin sand and pristine water, with emerald and aquamarine strokes.

During the “Lanzarote Fashion Weekend” celebrities like Pelayo, Marco Llorente, and Laura Ponte, among others, couldn’t resist coming to spend a day at this iconic beach.
